On this tour you will dive into the beauty of the western Salalah and be fascinated what nature and people have to offer. First we will go to Wadi Darbat in the Quara Mountains, where between numerous waterfalls and impressive rock formations the animals of the area gather for drinking at the riverbed. Afterwards we go to the Sumhuram excavation site, which is also a UNESCO world heritage site. This is a fortress that was once built by the king of the Hadramaut Empire (today’s Yemen) to control the frankincense trade from Dhofar to India. From the excavation site there is also a good view of the idyllic Khor Rori inlet, which is populated by a variety of birds and is one of the most beautiful lagoons in the Dhofar region. The last stop of the tour is Taqah where the castle and the beach are visited. The castle was built 300 years ago by a Wali and offers an impressive insight into the former life in the castle. The beach in Taqah fascinates by its white sand and crystal clear water.
